BlogsBest Builder AwardMon, 03/08/2010 - 19:52 — JohnPeitsmeyerToday I inspected a new home in Woodway, Texas. As I typically do with new home inspections, I expected to find somewhere between 15 to 20 deficiencies. This was not the case. I was pleasantly surprised to find only a handful of issues. In fact, of the last 2000 or so home inspections I have performed, this one was the best, no doubt about it. The builder in my opinion has gone above and beyond in insuring that this is one of the best built homes in the area. Superior efficiency ratings with cathedralized attic, (Open celled foam) foam insulated exterior walls and interior insulated (sound damping) walls were just the beginning. The plumbing supply lines were all accessible with additional shutoffs for each fixture in the attic. (No in slab supply plumbing) Thirty year architectural shingles topped off the roof. The interior granite and tile work was also outstanding. The home was equipped with state of the art appliances as well. I could go on with all the extras the house is equipped with but enough already. The greatest thing of all was the quality of the work on the home. The builder was present at the time of the inspection and was getting the minor issues corrected during the inspection process.
